Winston-Salem Symphony Elects New Board Members and Jay Reed as Board Chair

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (August 2, 2023) – The Winston-Salem Symphony announced the election of new members to the Winston-Salem Symphony Association Board of Directors, Class of 2023. Elected Directors serve three-year terms. The Class of 2023 includes nine new Directors, two ex officio, and eight renewing Directors. Jay Reed was elected as the new Board Chair, for which he will serve a two-year term.

The new Directors include:

  • Sandy Broadway (Community Advocate)
  • Carmen Canales (Senior Vice President, Chief People & Belonging Officer, Novant Health)
  • Kenny Ford (Assistant Professor of Finance, Wake Forest University)
  • Amanda LaBreque (Oboist, Winston-Salem Symphony)
  • Jennifer Lyday (Partner, Waldrep Wall Babcock & Bailey, PLLC)
  • Eileen Major (Retired IBM Executive)
  • Michelle Merrill (Music Director, Winston-Salem Symphony)
  • Joshua Q. Poindexter (Lead Interior Designer, Trouvaille Home)
  • Judy Watson (Community Advocate).

Jay Reed has over 25 years of expertise in strategic marketing, communications, and management. His extensive skill set spans business development, demand generation, customer experience, digital/social marketing, public relations, market research, employee engagement, and training, primarily within the financial services and consulting industries. Before establishing his firm, Broadstreet Partners, in 2018, Reed held key positions such as Vice President and Senior Strategist at Bellomy Research, Inc., Managing Director and Senior Consultant at ath Power Consulting, Vice President/Director of Customer Experience and Vice President/U.S. Managing Director of Marketing at Harris Bank, Vice President of Wealth Management Marketing at Wachovia Bank, and Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations at Silas Technologies.
